4 Tips for Planning Your Holiday Marketing Strategy

The Holidays are right around the corner and now's the time to put your marketing plan in place. Read on for our Holiday marketing tips for brands & businesses.

TIP 1

Know Your Goals

Whatever Holiday strategies you’re planning, it’s important to ensure that your goal is a SMART goal (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time bound.) This will help you to clarify your ideas, focus your marketing and use your time and resources wisely. By doing this you will also be able to track how effectively your marketing plan worked.

TIP 2

Prepare Content

It's not too late to create fresh Holiday specific content for each marketing channel. Now's the time to prepare photos, videos and graphics for publishing on your social media, website and email newsletter. Creating a content calendar is crucial in making sure you stay on track and don’t forget when a certain social post should go live or an email blast should be sent. A simple calendar with each social media post already prepared and your email blasts scheduled will ensure nothing gets forgotten during the Holiday frenzy.

TIP 3

Increase Exposure

Haven’t updated your email list in a while? Now’s the time do so. Add any lingering email subscribers prior to sending your promotional emails. Email delivers the highest ROI of any digital marketing channel, more about that here.

Other ways to increase eyes to your product or service are to partner with complimentary businesses and crosspost content on Facebook. This is a great way to reach a new audience at zero cost.

On Instagram, think about partnering with an influencer or local figure with a large audience that primarily consists of your target customer. You can offer payment or sometimes even gift product in exchange for them posting your content.

TIP 4

Create a Promotional Timeline

The top revenue-generating dates during the holidays are:

Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Late November (18th-25th), Thanksgiving & Christmas Day. With these dates in mind make sure your promotional timeline launches immediately after Halloween.
